Academics

At Hershey Elementary School, teachers use the Indiana Academic Standards as a guide for instruction. A typical day is broken up between a reading block, mathematics, writing, science, and social studies instruction, as well as recess, lunch, and a daily 30 minute special (art, music, physical education, technology and library).  Each grade level completes STEM activities each quarter. Our K-1 grades are provided with iPads for classroom use and our 2nd-5th grade students have Chromebooks that stay at school.

Hershey Elementary School works very hard to provide an experience for our students that is both engaging and child-focused. Providing a quality curriculum with many hands-on and interactive learning opportunities is part of our daily academic journey.
