Welcome to Hershey Elementary School
Home of the Panthers!
Hershey Elementary School, located in the eastern portion of Tippecanoe County known as Perry Township, is one of eleven elementary schools in the Tippecanoe School Corporation. Hershey sits directly behind East Tipp Middle School, and the students take pride in their shared strong sense of community and neighborhood.
Hershey opened in the fall of 1967 for grades kindergarten through sixth when Monitor and Buck Creek Elementary Schools were closed. Due to smaller class sizes, technological advances, and an enlarged media collection, an addition to the original structure was necessary in 1990. This added eleven classrooms. In 2004 Hershey underwent another expansion for the media center. The newly expanded media center opened for the start of the 2005-2006 school year. Currently, 531 students are enrolled at Hershey with a teaching and support staff of 60.
The Hershey staff takes great pride in, and is dedicated to, inspiring the students in the skills and problem-solving strategies that will prepare them for a lifetime of learning within an environment that encourages competence and confidence. This mission is accomplished through cooperative grouping, individualized teaching addressing specific student learning styles, collaborative planning, and sharing of ideas among students and teachers.
