Harrison High School has named 15 students as valedictorians of the Class of 2026.

Students receiving the school’s highest academic honor are Evan Coates, Sadie Edwards, Josephine Felten, Antonio Figueras, Lillian Holajter, Isabella Hountz, Elaine Job, Kaitlyn Manfra, Sophie Milner, Maddie Nelson, Karoline Newberry, David Oswalt, Sophie Pugh, Kaitlyn Riffey and Macalyne Wang.

Of the 15 valedictorians, 10 plan to stay close to home and attend Purdue University, where they will study fields including engineering, health sciences and genetics. Others will attend Indiana University, Ball State University, University of Chicago, Trine University and Miami University in Ohio with majors ranging from finance to neuroscience.

The students say TSC prepared them for the next chapter in their lives. 

“TSC has prepared me for the future by challenging me to always give my best effort in everything I do and teaching me that having good character is ultimately most important,” says Lillian Holajter, who plans to study visual communication design at Purdue.

Classmate Evan Coates says Advanced Placement and honors courses played an important role in preparing him to study finance and accounting at Indiana University.

“Those classes allowed me to challenge myself academically and prepare myself for college classes,” Evan says.

Many of the valedictorians credit their teachers for challenging them and helping them discover their passions. “TSC has prepared me for my future by providing the resources I need, and I have been given kind and helpful teachers who have helped me learn and grow throughout the years,” says Kaitlyn Riffey, who will attend Purdue to study interior design. “Being with TSC has helped me find where I can envision myself in the future and set larger goals for myself.

The valedictorians will be honored during commencement ceremonies Sunday, June 7.
